The magic of systemic constellations - an amazing and simple resource

A week ago I was walking around with short sleeves. Today I am looking at heavy snowfall. April has always been a month with crazy weather patterns.

We even have an idiom in German: Der April, macht was er will, which means, April, does whatever it wants.

Today I would like to share with you an amazing resource.

Have you ever wondered why certain situations in your life keep repeating themselves?

Are there any challenges in your life, job or relationships that take up a lot of your energy and you are tired of dealing with them?

There are so many avenues you could take to explore those questions.

It might be enough to become aware of where an issue originates from. However, many times it requires a systemic move to resolve itself.

I like to use a simple and powerful resource that I always share with my clients: systemic constellations.

There are so many benefits to working with it. If you take a step back you might realize that every generation in your family system encountered similar challenges and the pattern keeps repeating itself.

There might also be a specific blockage you are struggling to unearth. Systemic constellations can also help you with making important decisions.

Then we look at those topics systemically. By creating a so-called systemic constellation we discover the root cause pretty quickly.  The client notices whether a topic needs individual attention or is just a by-product and symptom of the root cause.

This exercise can be applied to any challenges in your life. You might be surprised what surfaces as the root cause.

What we see over and over again is disharmony within the original family system and your position within that system.

It only becomes obvious once we position everyone in the system and take a bird's eye view. This gives us a completely new perspective.

All your experiences within your original family system have an impact on your life and your experience in all other systems - relationships, jobs, businesses, countries etc.

Many of us are in the wrong position in the family system, for different reasons, and by moving into the right position, we start witnessing change in our lives. It can be so simple yet transformational.

I would recommend doing at least one initial session with somebody who is experienced with working with systemic constellations to look at your position within the family system.

Here is how it works, if you would like to try it out.

I take plain white paper for this exercise and use a highlighter to write on the paper. However, you can also use sticky notes if you prefer that. You can also put the sticky notes on a board.

Systemic constellations give you a bird's eye view. Often, when we are in the midst of challenges we can get a bit lost or feel overwhelmed with a certain situation. By applying a systemic constellation we look at the issues from the outside, which leads to a different perspective.

You can use that exercise for a specific situation in your life to make a decision. Write your choices on pieces of paper and put them on the floor or a board.

How do you feel just looking at them next to each other? You can then step onto the piece of paper with each option and see how you feel. Your intelligent body will naturally have a sensation. It can feel heavy, slump or uncomfortable on one piece of paper. It can feel light, upright or neutral on another piece of paper.

You can also look at your constellation and ask yourself: What do I need to get there or to achieve this?

It is a very simple, efficient and even playful way of gaining clarity and moving things around in your life or business. Whatever you move on the floor or board will move in real life. I speak from experience.

It certainly is one of my favourite resources. I have gained many insights through working with this resource.

As a human potential coach, it is a heartwarming and rewarding experience to witness the transformational process in my clients' lives.

However, for me, it is also about sharing resources with my clients that are simple to use and lead to major transformations.

Are you going to give it a go?

Remember, one small step at a time leads to a mile or even a quantum leap.

Another simple resource that has been truly beneficial is taking deep breaths regularly throughout the day. If you keep forgetting to do that, set a reminder and take some deep breaths.
